Hi guys, I've gotten Geralt to the inn, talked to Zoltan who says he will show me the basics of dice. I have 3 dice boxes in my quest inventory. However, whenever Zoltan tries to show me how to play dice, I don't get a "roll dice" button. I don't see mine and I don't see his. I do get a message at the top of the screen saying "Click on Roll Dice" but there is nothing to click on.

There is a hand rolling dice in the upper left hand corner of my screen, but nothing ever happens. I've clicked all over the place to see if I could accidentally trigger the roll but without success.

I've changed the view from OTS to Iso, but that didn't help either.

I've googled but not found anything pertaining to this error. Anyone had one like it?

Ok, either I'm blind or hubby really is magic. He helped me update my drivers and then we went into the inn, talked to Zoltan, the board opened and presto, zippo...the hand to roll was in the bottom right corner.

Your hubby and I are on the same page! I was going to suggest that you update your video card drivers. I loved playing dice in this game.

Well, I haven't had a chance to get back to it. Little boys....busy boys

When I was playing Witcher, I bookmarked this page about poker. It gives some basic info, hints and strategies. Under Notes and Playing the Odds, it tells a little about how the mechanics are set up and how the odds differ in the game vs. real life. For example, Geralt always rolls first, and only the NPC can re-raise the bet. Luck is weighted for different NPCs too. I found the info helpful.

Me too, I thought it was a lot of fun. And I got a minute to play and discovered the cause of my snafu yesterday.

When I open the game, there is a little announcement in the bottom right of the screen. I never bothered to close that yesterday. When hubby was helping me he asked me what that was about and I said, "Nothing, I'll close it." Guess what was hidden there?

That's right...the roll dice hand.

I myself have never done such a thing...

Since life gave you tomatoes, I somehow doubt that.

Are you referring to the Tomato Quest in the enhanced version of the Witcher? I haven't gotten to that part yet. I'll be lucky if I get out of Kaer Morhen.
