i am probably using the wrong forum for this problem but, here goes . old old game beyond atlantis II. this is the atlantis about female archaeologist in desert. I have played this many times but now it freezes when she approaches the bandit in beginning of game. I ordered a new one and new does same thing. I reset compatability settings, but I may have reset wrong. sure would love ro play ir again. am using an old xp ibm laptop and compac windows 7. same problem on both. any suggestions please.

This is a known glitch and you need a patch for the game. I'll have to do some digging, but I'm pretty sure Jenny100 posted a link to this patch some time ago.

EDIT: I think I found it. It's on page 6 in the "A's" under Atlantis II.

I tried to find the patch, as I had many problems trying to run Atlantis II, but the Patches site says 'requested page not found'
Is this a permanent state of affairs do we know?

Hmm... I just clicked on the link I posted and it took me to the patches website right away.

True - I can get to the patches website, and I can find the patch on page 9 of the As, but when I try to follow through and get past the '9 seconds before downloading' message and actually click on 'download', it then comes up with the message about the 'requested page not found'.

Seems strange to me, but presumably I am going wrong somewhere.

EDIT: Yup, you're right. After I waited for the German ads, I got the same page. Darn! I'm not sure where else to get this patch. I wonder if I still have it on my Windows 7 or XP computers.

I am relieved that I didn't make a mistake, but it is still a bit aggranoying.
I was using an XP machine. I haven't yet boldly gone to they new fangled modern operating systems, like.

By next April when Microsoft ceases all support for XP, you will have to make some decisions then! This glitch in the game happens with all operating systems. I've had it in XP, Windows 7 and Windows 8.

Atlantis III may be the same game as Beyond Atlantis II, but it installs in a different game folder and the patches for the two versions may be different. You can find the old patch for Beyond Atlantis II on the Internet archive. There is a link for the Beyond Atlantis II patch on the web archive version of Dreamcatcher/Adventure Company's help page ***HERE*** (scroll all the way to the bottom of the page to find the link).

Note this patch was from 2002 and may not help with other issues that may happen with modern computers. For example if there is a problem at the same location that happens with widescreen monitors, the patch is unlikely to help.
