Can anyone help me with getting the bottle off the cabinet? I have been up and down the drawers on the file cabinet, got the ruler opened, but I can't get the ruler to knock the bottle off the cabinet. I have used left button, right button and ctrl for left and right. All it does is either drop the ruler or put it back in the inventory. I know I must be doing something wrong somewhere, but what? HELP!

I think you're not standing close enough to the bottle. While standing on the drawer move carefully towards the bottle. Look at the bottle if Nick is saying "Hmmm...." you are close enough. Then the ruler should do the job...

I spent over an hour trying to get that bottle!

Step on the 1st drawer on the right...then the 2nd on the left and then the one right next to it. It's tricky, because you can easily slip down from them. When you can clearly see the bottle--before you use the ruler on it...right click all around that bottle to find the "hotspot"....Nick will say something when you find it.

Only then get the ruler out of your inventory and left click it on that spot. I found this segment really frustrating too...like I said, it took me over an hour. Good luck.

OK, I got the "hmm" but the ruler is still not working. If I right click on it it opens but goes back into inventory immediately. Using the control key doesn't seem to help. Does this mean that I must have moved (think I am gripping the edge of the drawer with my toes at this point)? That is, does the ruler lock open if you have the correct spot?

I finally got into the manhole (well, he did it all by himself) but I am missing a piece of chewing gum. After getting shot a zillion times...I have 3 from the bar and 2 from the travel place...but cannot find another one. HELP! <g>

You probably don't need this anymore but I'm putting this note in for anyone else who's tearing their hair out over the silly bottle...Cynch has the best description of what you have to do, but didn't mention that when you get the ruler out of inventory, LEFT click it out of inventory - that is, when it's still CLOSED. I thought for sure I had to RIGHT click it before using it because then it opened up and looked long enough to reach over to the cabinet. BUT you won't get it this way - only if you use it while it's still all folded up.
