I've recently got the game from Steam but as many others have reported I also don't get the intro & there's no cursor! I've downloaded DivX following the link posted here in the past but I don't know what I'm supposed to do now? I've got 3 desktop icons for DivX player, DivX converter & DivX Movies - help! I need idiot proof instructions on how to use DivX with the game!

DivX? Shouldn't that have been DirectX. DivX is used to play .avi files usually.

I've just checked in my DMH folders and there are indeed some .avi files present.

Assuming this is the thread you're referring to, the DivX seems to be for a disappearing cursor, not for the Intro not playing. Maybe it helps with both.

You could use the DiVX Player to play the .avi files outside of the game.

According to this, Avast antivirus blocks DiVX

Apparently installing DivX has helped the intro to play as well as rectifying the problem with the cursor for some players.

The game will only work at all while connected to Steam & there's certainly no .avi files in the game folder which why I was asking what I needed to do! smile

Installing DivX hasn't worked for me so far Winfrey & I don't have Avast anti-virus.

Could it be that the game's incompatible with Win 7 64 bit?

The .avi files are in the data/video folder

Thanks mj2c, the files don't show up in a search but I eventually found them. Sure I can play them in the DivX player but it doesn't help me to play the game & I don't know how to use the DivX installation to do that & feel so frustrated that no-one here seems to be able to help!

Hi Chrissie-

The latest version of the DivX installer apparently does not include the codec pack, and the codec files are what's needed to run the game intro and cursor. Try to download and install the codecs from here-

http://dist.divx.com/divx/codecpack/standalone/DivXInstaller.exe
