I do like a bit of stop motion claymation, so The MIdnight Walk was a no brainer to play.

I am currently 40 minutes in and still working my way around. While the game says a controller is best, I am playing perfectly fine with the mouse and keyboard, although rebinding the keys is eluding me so far. It's a small thing, but should be available, so hopefully my Steam post will help.

You play the Burnt One, who having borrowed some eyes and some ears heads off into the world. It's a dark place, illuminated by fire. Matches and candles have been a staple thus far, sometimes opening new paths, sometimes just providing a bit of cheer.

What I am doing (bigger picture wise) I am not yet sure. I do know I need to avoid the crawling many limbed things that will bite your head off (I got caught to deliberately find out what would happen). I snuck past the first and ran away from the second, and I assume they will also be a staple as I progress.

I am collecting rag dolls as I go, for what purpose I don't yet know. I have also gathered an inventory item or two that can be activated and then used. I have also learnt to close my eyes to allow me to hear things more clearly. I expect that too will be an ongoing requirement.

I have just encountered Potboy, a (possible) companion that is just as the name implies and who can carry fire. Having fed him, he seems to be willing to come along/lead me.

It looks and sounds good, so long as you don't mind a gloomy, dark visage. That might change as the game goes on.

It plays in the third person and saves automatically. It also supports VR.

I look forward to what is to come.
