After reading this I thought I would play the game I d/loaded this past April. I am now getting this message: Failed to start game (missing executable) I followed Steam's recommendation and deleted the "appcache" but that didn't fix it. Now I've got a message with recent news that the Vanishing of Ethan Carter: Redux is out. It says it will take 6hrs. to d/load so I have to guess this is the game in it's entirety, yes?

It does appear that this is a Re-mastered Update so guess it's a must d/load.
Thanks.

When you live in the past, it costs you the present.

If you bought the first game at Steam, the Redux will be in your library, as it was mine. That download should be free. I also got a six hour download estimate, but it was more like 3 hours, so not so bad. I've had no problems on a Win 7 laptop. Auto saves are more frequent, and if you must stop when real life calls you away, you start the game again very near the spot where you stopped, if not standing in the exact same spot. That is much better than last year's version where you had to start over again at the beginning of a "chapter". It is, IMHO, the most beautiful, immersive and realistic gaming experience I've encountered in decades. The discussions forums might be able to give you tips on more specific questions you might have. Good luck if you download the Redux!

Thanks LadyCav. You are correct, it didn't take 6 hrs. The main reason I purchased the game was for the graphics. I thought them stunning and can hardly wait to get started on the game. Thank you for the information. However I got a warning MS window about not allowing in public or private places. I allowed it and as you see, can't remember the exact wording.
