When I go to the GOG website, across the top is Store, About, Community, Support and then in bright purple "Sign In."

If your laptop has Windows 10, it is not using IE - it is using the Edge browser. IE is only available on older operating systems.
Have you tried rebooting your Window 7 computer? If IE is still not displaying correctly, I would try another browser such as Firefox or Chrome.

There IS a way to bring up IE in Windows 10, but it's hidden. I actually have it on my Windows 10 taskbar in case I need to help someone who is still using IE on Windows 7. I'm sure Edge is a fine browser and it's certainly far more secure than IE, but I just can't warm up to it. I use Firefox on my Windows 10 computer. And the more I use the new Firefox Quantum version, the more I like it.
One more thing to try on your Windows 7 computer is to clear the browser cache and see if that helps.
