deleterman, do you thing it would help if you physically checked off each step in a walkthrough with a pen or pencil as you followed it? It seems like you are missing things in the walkthroughs and then getting stuck.

Did you also take the financial documents off the desk in the study?
Did you try to show Bebe any of the documents? The financial papers and/or the calling card?
Has Hulot been found dead? That may make a difference.
Which walkthrough are you using now?

I'm a little confused now myself as to where you are and what you have done. How did you get into the meeting hall? Did Bebe make you another fake letter or did you drug the door man?
What is the last thing Mrs. Loiseau talked to you about?

MaG's walkthrough says: Alchemy Room - Go forward until the Alchemy room. Look around and note an alchemy table, 4 numbered panels on posts with drawings and a desk with a framed ring. Go to the next room.
Crypt - Go to next room. See the body of Gregory de Allepin and a stand in between the 2 slabs. Look close at Allepin and see a cutscene of the transmutation. So Allepin has transferred into a new body. Is this what happened the night Kaufner talked about meeting Allepin and Gracie-Adeline in the mansion? Take a picture using your camera to get a photograph of de Allepin's mortal remains. Look around and see all the tombs of past bodies Allepin has used over the centuries.

Flying Dutchman is also in the crypt room now! I first had trouble opening the secret room, but.eventually, did succeed. Hello Deleterman!  Am tired though, and will continue tomorrow (will sleep in a corner ...  ) Rob (hi Guys!  )
