I finely managed to get the game installed, but I didn't check for it to put it in the start menu. Now I can't start the game as it says I need to start it from the launcher. When I click on the launcher all it wants to do is install it again, which it says it can't do as it is already installed. The only uninstall I can find is for the launcher. It took me forever to get the launcher to let me install the first time as it kept crashing. The link I used for the launcher was from Winfrey, as what they sent me brought up an error on the page. Both times the link was sent to me it went to an error saying there was nothing there. Ana, suggested I ask here to see if someone might have an idea on what I can do. I know it installed ok as it started the game right after the install. I then closed it as I had to go out. Now I can't open it. Thanks for any ideas you may have. Thanks Connie

What company made the "launcher?"
Was it FrogWares?
I have this game from Big Fish, not from Frogwares, and I never had any problem like what you're describing.

I found this about Frogwares' launcher with an Internet search.

What are you doing to have it say you "need to start it from the launcher?"
Is this a desktop shortcut you're using?

Does the launcher not have an "uninstall" button for the game?

If you need an uninstaller, and the uninstaller in Control Panel\Programs isn't working, try Revo Uninstaller https://www.revouninstaller.com/products/revo-uninstaller-free/

I think the company that made the launcher is Xstolla. Not positive, but Ana mentions Xstolla in the thread I have linked to below.

The thread about this is over in Adventure Game Discussions here.

Connie was one of the winners of the Frogwares giveaway, and everybody was having issues initially getting the game downloaded and running. I believe Connie is now the only winner left who has not been able to get the game running.

Oh, and Sinking Island is the game that Big Fish sells. This is Sinking City.

I am not home so I can’t give a step by step . I only started it once so I don’t know what will happen when I get home and try again. When I started it the first time I tried using the .exe file and it told me I had to use the launcher which it had placed a shortcut on my desktop. I clicked on it and I believed it started the launcher and after a moment the game started. I will post here if I can’t start it when I get home. 9/22. There is a link to their customer support. Can you see that Connie? Since this is a new launcher they might be able to help.

Is that Sinking City that you have from Big Fish, or is it maybe Sinking Island. I don't see Sinking City on Big Fish.

See the last sentence of my post above - I am sure that Jenny was referring to Sinking Island on Big Fish and not Sinking City.

They told me to uninstall the launcher, but I have never had a working link to the launcher. I used one Winfrey posted but it has been removed so there is nothing I can do at this point.

Did you write back and tell them that?

Frogwares will do everything they can to help you... but you will have to let them know what happened.

Sorry, Marian. I missed your reference to Sinking Island. Apologies to you and Jenny.
