Dark Fall - The Adventure Company will be publishing Dark Fall and Dark Fall II globally. Here are some brief details on the first game, Dark Fall.

Game Summary

“There is something here, a power, in here with us...."

Returning from work you listen to a frightened and cryptic voice message from your brother, a talented architect redeveloping the old Dowerton station in Dorset, England. Boarding a train to meet him, you travel to Dowerton alone, wondering what adventure you may be embarking on...

When you arrive, the train is empty and the station is deserted. You begin to explore - the train tunnels, the station, the adjoining hotel, and the grounds - and discover that although no one is there, you are not alone. Finding artifacts, ancient documents and a valuable journal, you realize that the area holds a history of disappearances and hauntings dating back centuries.

Time and history appear to repeating itself, but what is your role in all this? Why were you chosen for this task? What is the “Dark Fall”? Will you become consumed by the darkness as well?

Armed with ghost hunting gadgets, and using the clues left behind by the spirits, set out to uncover the mystery of Dark Fall.

It is always waiting...

Excellent news. Congratulations to Jonathan.

This isn't really surprising when you think about it. I actually heard a few weeks ago that Jonathan had found a major publisher for Dark Fall II, and it just makes sense that the Adventure Company would also re-release Dark Fall on their label to give some context to the sequel.

I know we all already see Dark Fall as a big success, but this will increase its sales big time.

I know everyone looks at the whole "make the game and sell it independently" thing as romantic, but it allows Jonathan to concentrate on what he does best - make games - and not on the nuts and bolts of sales and distribution.

Hello all,

You heard right! The Adventure Company will be publishing Dark Fall : The Journal (new name for the first game) and also Dark Fall II : Lights Out. Both games will be available on the store shelf.

This is great news for all of us! Without having to do my daily trips to the Post office I can now concentrate just on the production side of things. Which means more games (like Rae said)!

Hmm, my local Post Office will wonder where I've gone!

Jonathan

P.s. A huge thank you to all those that have supported me this last year, and bought the game through the XXv website. Those original game units may be collectable now!

Congratulations Jonathan! I think many people here realize how difficult it is to produce a game like Dark Fall, especially alone. For your courage and work ethic you deserve it. thumbsup

Who's idea was it to add "The Journal" of all things to the first one?! I'm thrilled at this opportunity for you, Jonathan, don't get me wrong, and I loved the first DF. I'm just curious about the add-on in the name, that's all. wave

Maybe I should have bought two or three copies of Dark Fall to begin with, so that when it becomes an incredibly rare game (as an original by Jonathan when he was an Independent) I'd have one or two to trade. As it is, I wouldn't give up my original disc for anything. OK.....maybe for the Roberta Williams Anthology, but other than that, not for anything! wink
Wow, Jonathan, you have been a busy guy this year. I'm very happy for you. I sort of feel like one of the lucky people who bought one of the Harry Potter books before J.K. Rowling became famous, and then they realized they had to share their discovery with everyone else! But you have our address here at Gameboomers, so hopefully you will still pop in now and then when you aren't at important Adventure Company meetings, etc. wink And you won't let them cut out the cat sequence in Dark Fall II, will you???!!!
Happy gaming,
Beth

Hi all,

Thanks for the congrats, and thoughts. Of course I'll be popping into GB's on a regular basis, I do play other AdGams after all. Where would I keep up with what's hot and what's not!

I added "The Journal" subtitle. It makes more sense when you are producing a series. In all my original notes I refered to it by that name, as a certain journal featured in the game ties the events together.

Also, yes, the 'cat' sub story is still planned for DFII : Lights Out.

Anyway, thanks again.

Jonathan
