I am Jenny's brother. Sadly, Jenny passed away on 3/24/21. She gradually became ill last year, with increasing problems with headaches and nausea. She didn't want to go to a doctor because of the COVID situation. By September she was getting pretty bad. She was having trouble thinking clearly, and she would have bouts of weakness that could cause her to fall. I finally decided to call 911, even though she didn't want me to. They took her to the hospital, where the doctors discovered she had a very large tumor in her brain. They promptly operated to remove it and get the pressure off her brain, but there was also a small tumor that was in a very sensitive part of her brain. So they used radiation to try to zap the small one, and some more general radiation to try to clean up after the big one. It turned out the tumors weren't made of brain cells. These were secondary tumors, and there were others in her lungs, spine, etc.

Our mother also had cancer, and chose to aggressively fight it with chemo. She ended up dying sooner and more painfully due to the chemo. So Jenny totally refused any chemo. Unfortunately, that didn't avoid pain. She had a lot of back pain that was only partially controlled with meds, and she had nausea that was never really controlled, with various nausea meds either not doing anything, or in some cases even making the nausea worse.

Jenny's final few posts here at GameBoomers were a really heroic effort, considering the shape she was in when she made them. It shows how much she cared about her friends at GameBoomers, and how determined she was to be with them as long as she could.

I am devastated to hear this news. I was very fond of Jenny and learned so much from her. She and I went back a long way, as we both registered here in 2000.

I appreciate your posting and letting us know about this. She would mention you from time to time in her posts here.

My deepest condolences to you. I will really miss her. May she rest in peace.

Thank you for stopping in and letting us know. Jenny was an incredible woman who spent countless hours helping getting gamers up and running. Her knowledge of computers and games was astounding. Thank you for taking such good care of her. She wrote often and made me chuckle with how she would seemingly terrorize you with her antics, and in the same breath say how much you did for her. A true brother/sister relationship till the end.

Rest in peace Jenny. hearts

Very sorry to hear of your loss (and a big loss to GameBoomers also)!

Thank you for letting us know.

I remember asking a question here about 10 years ago regarding an electrical issue I was uncertain about and Jenny answered me after consulting with you about it.

And, of course, she helped me and many others with computer and gaming issues. She was very precise with her answers and I usually always understood them.

I can hardly type through my tears. I don't know what we will do around here without her. She was so important to all of us. Thank you for taking such good care of her.

I will let her friends at Mystery Manor know too.

Jenny's brother, there is a thread here in our Mixed Bags forum I started for more condolences. Not everyone visits the glitches section so I wanted to let everyone know.

Condolence thread.

This is very sad news. Jenny was such a gift to this forum...always helpful to folks in need. So knowledgeable and willing to extend herself for others. She will be greatly missed here, but I'm certain more so by her family and friends. To them I offer my sincere condolences. She is now in the arms of the angels. Rest in peace, Jenny.

Oh no, I am very shocked and saddened to hear this!!! I never met Jenny in real life, but every single online interaction with her she treated me like her best friend. I know she was that way with everyone, just the classy person that she was. I was always amazed at the depths of her technical knowledge with PCs and other devices, there literally was no question that she did not find an answer to. Jenny was such an amazing asset to GameBoomers. My condolences go out to you & other remaining family.

Jenny's contributions to both Glitches, bugs & patches and the discussion forum were outstanding. She will be missed.

I am so sad to hear this... Condolences to all GB family.

I have a story to share. Just a couple of weeks ago, I wanted to replay Aura II and couldn't get it to work on a modern computer. I searched for a solution, and it turned out that I had the exact same problem 7 years ago, posted about that in the glitches forum and Jenny had helped to me solve it. 7 years later her solution worked again and I was thinking about sending her a thank you message..

I didn't know her personally but it is clear that she was an amazing person and helped many gamers like me. She will be missed.

I am so sad and sorry... Jenny was one of the most knowing and prominent members of this community. Gameboomers will never be the same without her wisdom and amiability.
My condolences to Jenny's brother and the family.

Oh my - this is the first I had heard. Just happened to stumble upon this post while looking for help with something. Jenny graciously helped me so many times, and I was expecting to have her help me in this forum yet again. I will miss her very much.
