Oldbroad, I haven't started Adam Wolfe yet. I got involved in a match-3 game (Cursed House 2) and just finished that up a couple of days ago. Will let you know what I think if I start playing it. Every single level of Cursed House 2 had different objectives to achieve, which was fun.

Aw Mad, sorry to hear that you're having problems. hug I think it is probably those "actiony" bits I'm not too fond of.

Marian, glad to hear about Cursed House 2. Are you still also playing Bookworm Adventures?

Yes, I am still playing Bookworm Adventures on and off. It's not a game that I just want to plow my way through, so it will probably be a while before I finish it. I am on book two of three.

It's nice to have a "background" type of game. I am currently replaying Pandora's Box that way.

I just finished Episode 2 of Adam Wolfe. This is the one thing that I really don't like about the game - the "combat". I despise having to mash down on my mouse button!!

But at least you don't have to re-play a long lead up stretch in order to try again if you fail ??

I dislike that MORE lol

Agreed Mad! In the second episode there is a 3 part area of mouse mashing. I only made it through 2 parts and had to use the skip button for the last one. I just couldn't do it and I use both hands for those.

I am replaying Mystery Murders: The Sleeping Palace. The premise is familiar: waking up in a strange place, all alone, and having to figure out what is going on while you try to save everyone else. ha ha Overall, I am enjoying it, since it is realistic, beautifully rendered and artfully designed. It is not one of those cartoon-colored things with purple smoke and Joker-like deranged villains. The various puzzles are challenging but none are game-stoppers. A few are dead easy. The HO scenes are not unduly aggravating.

This game did not come as a CE (no Game Manual) so I am suffering through a LOT of aimless wandering around, looking for tiny keys, miscellaneous gems and fragments of door puzzles, with most of the rooms locked until I find their keys or the pieces needed to solve a puzzle to open them. (I got stuck solidly while trying to reconstruct a ladder, and found a rung in the opposite end of the palace, in a room that was locked for the first two hours of play.)

The game has a Map function, but it only slowly reveals the environment, as you explore, solve puzzles and obtain more keys to open doors. Also, the environmental layout doesn't quite make sense at first, because of the way you turn corners as you move around the palace. I'm probably halfway through the game and still a bit confused about which direction to turn sometimes. Once you have rooms opened, though, you can rapidly transport from one to the other using the Map.

Thanks for that description of the game, Reenie. I have Mystery Murders: The Sleeping Palace but haven't played it yet. It sounds like it's worth a look. smile

I wouldn't think twice about skipping an action type bit, myself, oldbroad. seeing as it's not an adventure bit laugh

Just finished Adam Wolfe. I liked it okay but certainly did not love it and didn't really find it fun. Just me I guess. duh

Not at all. I am sure there were other people who felt the same way. Thanks for giving us your opinion about it!

I can understand why you weren't too enthralled, oldbroad yes

However, I am still enjoying it - as much as I can actually sit and play games at the moment laugh

I'm glad you're enjoying it Mad and wish your body would allow you to sit and play more! I am certainly not sorry I played the game. There is a lot to like about it as well as some things not to like (for me).

A good way into the final chapter now and still very much enjoying myself grin

When I'm finished, I think I might go for a total change of experience and fire up a real oldie "Adventure".
One of the Monkey Islands ?? Or maybe the original Broken Sword ??
[ But just pop in a bit of a Casual Match 3 now and then as well laugh ]

Currently I am playing an adventure game oldie and have also been making my way through Jewel Match Twilight Solitaire.

I'm replaying MCF: The Black Veil now, a very creepy and unsettling game. Torture themes, sudden shocks, arcane creatures and a madman keeping it all spinning. Not my cuppa, but I didn't realize all that when I bought it, nor when I launched it for replay. ha ha Still, I realize why I liked it, and it is totally down to the elaborate plot, good graphics and excellent mini-games. I am trying hard to overlook the grotesque and macabre elements. Would recommend it for players who would be happy to absorb the levels of torture and gore for the sake of a great challenge.

I really liked this game but a good way into it, I encountered a glitch that couldn't be overcome - even with help from Big Fish. So I was given a free game code.

But maybe it will work on my next machine.

I will certainly be trying it as BF said I can always re-try it yes

It was "MCF: The Black Veil" Uncle Reg smile

Well I finished Adam Wolfe today and enjoyed it VERY much - except for the ending - which I felt was really poor.
[But which won't stop me from playing the game again at some time lol]

Now I've installed Journeyman Project 3 : Legacy of Time.
I love this game and own several versions of it but I've gone for the GOG one and successfully installed it (and played about 30 minutes of it) on my Win7 machine.
So I'm very happy as I've always previously played it on WinXP rah

Thanks for reminding me about Legacy of Time, Mad. I have the GOG version as well and haven't played it yet! Will move it up to the top of the pile.
