Who needs a groomer when you can send your dog to the farm for a wash and massage? It's the redneck version of a doggy day spa.

It was Babe who told Farmer Hoggett to shape the salt lick to look like a dog, and after that thing with the sheep who was he to disagree.

Yes sir, it was the summer of '18 when Jasper was just 7 months old ... he was frolicking in and around the farm's pond playing with the catfish when he stumbled into a ground hornet's nest ... it seemed like the poor feller was chased in and out of the water by the hornets for hours and every since then Jasper detested water and getting bathed ... that is until Ms. Corie came up with the idea to spritz Jasper with her hummingbird solution in the pasture with the herd ... and Jasper now enjoys his wash day 'any day!'

Hi all.
It's going to be quite late tonight (Eastern time) before I'll have the chance to return to this thread, so judging will be slightly delayed. Which allows for more last-minute additions, so keep 'em coming!
In the meantime, I leave you to ponder that famous canine adage: Cleanliness is next to dogliness.

Well, picking a winner has left me a little barking mad, but after much deliberation, I am pleased to crown Sherlock the winner for "Now, that's what I call a cow wash!" Every time I read it, I hear Rose Royce's "Car Wash" playing in my head, which makes it extra groovy. Sherlock's entry just noses out soot's Farmer Bill endorsement, but there's no shortage of worthy challengers all around, from other delightful puns to clever little stories. (I'd particularly like to hear more about flotsam's "thing with the sheep.") So thanks for the chuckles everyone, and congrats to Sherlock!

Glad I'm not the only one who wants to hear more about "the thing with the sheep."
