SpaceQ and flotsam, I just saw the dance episode too! The actress for Wednesday is just phenomenal. I could watch her all day! What a great episode! I sadly only have 2 episodes left. I hope they will hurry up with a season 2.

That said, what are your opinions on Gomez? In my mind, based on the original Addams family, Gomez was a sexy romantic man. I find the actor playing Gomez to be very repulsive and it breaks me out of the mood of being immersed in the show. Am I alone on this?

I agree about Gomez... the original was this suave and sexy guy. This guy is a repulsive toad! But Wednesday herself is enough to help me forget about him.

I don’t find him repulsive but he is no John Astin that’s for sure.
They are right to focus on Wednesday and I like that they made room for Christina Ricci

The other Adams Family members were a little weak to me but Wednesday carried everyones water in this series. She was spectacular! I wonder if she really plays the cello because she really sold that scene.

Found this. Later in the piece, it said she didn't actually play the cello in the series, but was able to mime doing it because of her lessons.

Quote
Did Jenna Ortega learn to play cello for Wednesday?
Displaying extremely impressive dedication to the role, Ortega learned a host of new skills for Wednesday, including fencing, German, archery, boxing, and playing the cello.

She told Wired that she began taking cello lessons twice a week, two months before filming for the series began. “I probably couldn’t play too well now,” she admitted, but continued, “It is something that I want to continue to pursue. I have immense respect for anybody who plays the cello. I think it’s such a delightful instrument”.

Ortega also told the outlet that she would love to be a composer of ambient music and release “neo-composing albums”.

Here is the entire article.

Wow, Drac! She's quite the talented girl! And I loved her cello performance! I'm getting ready to watch the final 2 episodes, I will be sad to see it end! I don't watch much TV, this really caught my eye!

Sounds like everyone is enjoying Wednesday. I could use a change of pace so maybe it will be my next watch.

It's not necessary, but it might be good to get a background in the old Addams Family TV show! I never missed it.

I watched some of it back in the day, so I will catch the references to the earlier show.

By the way, Lex, I did watch Grimm and quite liked it -- nothing Earth-shattering, but lots of fun.

I've started Wednesday. Quite amusing. I love the Buffy references.

We are still nibbling away at Grimm - often nothing special but always entertaining and occasionally exceptional, and good ensemble cast. Have just started watching Three Pines on Amazon Prime (mentioned by soot): a slow burner but could be fun. catrub

Also still continuing with the creepy and sometimes rather uncomfortable A Friend of the Family https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/a_friend_of_the_family/s01

We tried Three Pines yesterday and made it 2 episodes and it didn't grasp hubby and I so we quit. We then tried The Peripheral and it found it equally not very riveting. We did however settle on a movie called The People We Hate at the Wedding which ended up to be very entertaining after a bit of a slow start.

No opinion on Watcher yet. Typical big house, deliciously creepy neighbors, lots of suspects etc.

Stumbled across a TV series of the excellent Scando film Let The Right One In, of which the English language remake (Let Me In) is rather good too (which doesn't happen very often).
Only one episode in but its already going to be rather different. Not sure what I think yet but I need to watch a couple more anyway before passing judgement.

This sounds like the title of a book I read. Scandanavian too, if I remember. About a young vampire girl.
