Chanterelles are very popular here too, Fogfighter. They can usually be found through the end of the summer. I have a friend who goes foraging at least once a week for them. Since they found out in the woods and our temps are in the 90's and the ticks are plentiful, it's not for the faint of heart!
Yeah. Unfortunately the woods are thick with ticks. Better be careful out there. High temperatures doesn't help.

Indeed it's best to be picky when harvesting shrooms
I stick to a few safe varietis I'm totally confident on.
