Early morning already.

Too early for WADDB. Still plenty snow outdoors.
The icicles have returned with a vengeance.

Happy weekend GameBoomers

If it's late enough to be up, it's late enough for some coffee!

Don't let any of the icicles hit you on the head!

I hope everyone enjoyed their Friday!

Good Saturday morning. The WADDB is really hitting the spot this morning. It's more seasonable this morning, so quite chilly.

It's time to start getting the spare bedroom ready for step-daughter and her SO who be arriving on Tuesday. He had cataract surgery, so they couldn't be here for Christmas. So, we have one more gathering next Saturday. I am SO ready for it to all be over so I can go back to my hermit mode for the rest of the winter!

Good morning everyone.

Coffee was most welcome this morning. It's pouring rain here and I am happily in my winter hermit mode already. It's so awful I'm cancelling my plan to drive into town this morning.

My most pressing decision today will be whether to watch something or play a game.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Happy Saturday!

Back to the gas company. Received another notice of disconnection which doesn't show a date on it. I don't think they can disconnect us in the winter but who knows. Anyway, I spent 45 minutes on the phone with them trying to make sure they don't and trying to find out what to do about the stove that we cannot remove. Need to have the appliance guy back out to disconnect it/cap it off. The gas company doesn't do that which I find quite ridiculous.

I don't like this Fiber phone stuff. It is very much like having a party line - lots of background noises, conversation, echoes, and dead air. I really miss my copper wire phone connection! And I think I read that next year the phone company will not use this Fiber phone thing anymore either and I will have to have some other thing installed.

I hope you each enjoy your day! I'm thinking/hoping mine can only get better!

Already Sunday over here. Without sunshine so far.

The emergency coffee is black too. And the icicles still growing.

Sorry to hear about your involuntary party line Oldbroad. And good luck with the gas situation.

Happy Sunday to those of you who are there already!

Good Morning everyone! Wide Awake Double Dark Brew is ready! wave

Fogfighter thanks for the emergency coffee! Oldbroad I still have my landline on copper wire. Fiber optic cable has not come my way yet...my street is literally at the end of the line and Frontier does not want to pay to run it down my street. They will no longer maintain the copper cable unless their is a trouble reported...then they will fix it.

I like having a "real" landline because the phone works when we lose power. smile

Hope you all enjoy your Sunday! happydance

Good morning, Danish, Donuts and Bagels in the Break Room. I still have a land line. I prefer it to my cellphone for making calls. The cellphone is fine for texting. Enjoy the day and hug someone.

Good morning everyone. We still have a landline -- and had to switch to fiber years ago...so when power is down so is the landline...but we do enjoy the faster upload/download speeds with the fiber. I remember those days when power was down but we still had a copper landline that worked. C'est la vie...

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone wave

Good morning everyone.

There's a howling gale outside this morning. No doubt we'll have a power outage at some point today. Fortunately I have my portable generator all charged up and ready to go.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Happy Sunday! I am not a football fan at all but my brother was very happy to watch the Bears beat the Packers - again - last night! I don't watch but keep an eye on the score while on my computer (just the score by Googling "Bears game today") and was rooting for them but really for my brother. Another come from behind win in the last minutes.

Need to figure out some new games to start today and balance my check book. I usually pay bills on Sunday but I don't think I have any this week - yay. Hopefully, that is all I'll have to worry about today!

Have a great day all!

Same here, soot !! 😁

I certainly don't experience any of the weird noise/disturbance described by oldbroad whistle

Good Sunday morning. Being well-prepared is a good feeling, hagatha.

I liked my land line, but could no longer manage the telemarketers and spammers no matter what I did. I finally gave up. They don't maintain the phone lines out here in the country and we had problems constantly too. The cell phones are leaps and bounds better. I might get two or three spam calls a week, but as long as I keep up with them blocking and deleting, they are totally manageable. With the landline, it was 15 - 20 a day and more. For power issues, I got a couple of power banks that I can charge up phones, laptops or whatever. We are seldom out more than a few hours, but I've used them a couple of times.

Oldbroad, you are not supposed to have noise and interference on your fiber optic phone line. It sounds like you need to call them and report this.

Maybe I'm just sitting too close to the box?

I was going to say the same thing that Drac said, ob. I have a fiberoptic landline phone and experience none of the problems you mention.

Wishing everyone a very pleasant Sunday. wave
