It will be a bitter cold day today and get even colder with the wind chill...so much snow expected tomorrow thru Monday!

Connie hope your issue gets resolved quickly. Oldbroad, I too am wondering if Fogfighter is okay. Judith I love mac and cheese. I could eat it every day...makes a nice leftover snack too!

Good morning, Danish, Donuts and Bagels in the Break Room. All that's left is the cleanup and a very large loan. My son will be by to start on the walls this week. Working the kitchen at the Eagles tonight, karaoke to follow. Enjoy the day and hug someone.

Good Saturday morning. THERE he is! Seems winter has its grip on you, Fogfighter!

We are hunkered down here in east central Missouri. I made a run in town for groceries and wine and we are good to go. It started snowing about 8 this morning, but this first wave is supposed to be pretty minor. The real accumulation is supposed to happen overnight tonight. The brutal cold is the real concern around here because people aren't used to it. Where I grew up in extreme NW Iowa, the high yesterday was 8 below zero F, so I am used to it. Still hate it though!

All our travelers here for the funeral last week have safely arrived home. We were especially worried about our granddaughter driving back to her Army base where she is stationed in Texas because the ice storm across the south could be historic and they are afraid power grids will go down.

Happy Saturday. Seems I really slept in today.

I sure wish I could bottle up all the positivity and energy (or whatever the right words are) that I see in the forum here and make some personal use of it. You all get things done!

Fogfighter, thanks for stopping in to let us know you're okay (or at least there and cold).

We're in positive single digit numbers today for the temperature so, better than yesterday there, but no attempt being made for a grocery run for a few more days at least.

Oldbroad, now that all the company is gone and winter has settled in, I am officially going into my hermit mode for the foreseeable future! I suspect that you've got some of your own energy already bottled up and it's just a matter of using it or not. Just do whatever makes you happy even if it's nothing!

Today the storm arrives around 10 or 11am. We are expecting over a foot of snow and there is the possibility we could lose power so if I'm not here tomorrow morning you'll know why!

Oldbroad it might help you feel better if you set up a simple schedule of "to dos" each day and accomplishing even one thing on the list will help you feel a little positive...even if its just time playing a game!

Glad to see you posting Fogfighter...I was getting worried about you. Stay warm soot. Draclvr enjoy some gaming while you "hibernate"!

Good Sunday morning. Woke up to about 8 inches of snow total, so not too bad. The brutal cold is still a factor - only about 8 degrees F today. Hubby is out clearing off the gravel driveway with the big tractor.

He drove in town this morning to get his Hardee's breakfast like he does every Sunday. Said the country road is pretty bad, but the main highways are OK. Me, I've got no reason to be anywhere, so I'm staying right where I am!

I wasn't trying to "woah is me"; I was just trying to praise all of you for the way you get things done! You encounter a problem and you face it, fix it, and move along!

Brother tried to start the car again this morning since the temp has risen some but no go.

We had some snow. Doesn't look like too much from my window. It is snowing lightly now.

Good Morning everyone! Wide Awake Double Dark Brew is ready!

We have over a foot and 1/2 of snow and scattered snow showers today could drop a few more inches. The snow is drifting and blowing so it is really deep in areas! It is bitter cold with the wind chill too, but at least we didn't lose power.

I did walk yesterday morning with my friend and neighbor Andrea. It started snowing while we walked. We were not the only ones out there in the cold and snow...a man was walking and another was running! It got a little slippery walking back and colder then I thought.

We still have a storm warning advisory this morning.

Its going to take a long time to get the snow cleared!

Wow Fogfighter, you are quite the poet! Same here Connie, glad it's not as cold as elsewhere...or the snow and ice. Gerry, I remember those snowy days and lots of shoveling to clear driveway and sidewalks. Staying warm is on my agenda for the day!

Good Monday morning! 5 degrees F below zero last night... and it's not supposed to get any better for quite awhile. Connie and soot, you may not have these extreme cold temps, but for where you live, it's no less awful!

We got up to two little girls shoveling off in front of our garage this morning! Our neighbor's daughter is 11 and she had a friend staying with her. Between hubby and his tractor and his son doing some shoveling, there wasn't a lot left to do, but we just let them have at it. They did clear a 2 foot drift from in front of the machine shed where he parks his big truck. I got them hot chocolate after and then we sat and talked. They wanted to hear more snow stories from Iowa where I grew up, so I showed them a picture of snow all the way up to the top of electric utility poles the year we missed 6 weeks of school! Hubby gave them each $25 and they headed back home under the barbed wire fence dragging their shovels!

We had somebody ringing our doorbell yesterday, like 4 times which is quite annoying to us (in a row - not at separate times of the day) wanting to shovel for us but we just can't afford those rates! Actually, I think the guy who snow blows next door did the city walk in front of our house anyway. My brother finished up the rest of it. He also went to Home Depot to buy a car battery. That is the closest walk from our house. Auto Zone is a pretty long walk and Pep Boys doesn't carry batteries anymore. The car took him to get cat food for the outdoor cats and to Jimmy Johns but he said it kept dying when he stopped. Hoping that the battery just needs to get a little use and it won't do that anymore.

Sunny here today with single digit temps.

We might get some snow today. I have to venture out for physiotherapy but otherwise it'll be another cozy gamimg day.
