I will have to check and see if there is a guide in the original game one of these days.

I finished The Legacy: Prisoner today and have since started Secrets of Salem: The Phantom Cab, which I am really enjoying. All the reviews I saw were bellyaching about the lack of voiceovers which is not in and of itself a deal-breaker for me. I am glad that I don't give much credence to reviews as I would have missed out on some games that I liked very much.

I agree about reviews. I find myself looking at them, but mostly never base my purchase decision on them.

This True Fear: Forsaken Souls game is kind of tedious.

It's been a long time since I've played the first part of True Fear, but most people sure seemed to like it. I think you are the first one I know with a dissenting opinion.

I am currently playing Lost Lands: The Wanderer CE and am in the middle of the bonus game.

I guess I was just expecting something different because it did get so much hoopla. It is not the first time I'm the *odd man out*. I haven't really decided if I like the game or not but it is tedious, one way or the other.

I think the second and third games are more complicated, for better or worse. I believe 8dognight has a write-up about it in the Recommendations thread here on the forum.

I just went back to the Recommendations thread to re-read what 8dognight wrote and frankly, I found what she wrote to be as tedious and harder to follow than the games. duh

Now I am wanting to replay the first game and then play parts two and three. My memory just isn't that great anymore and part one should feel like a new game.

And I just re-read 8dognight's comments on the second part of the game and found them to be quite entertaining and informative. Different strokes, I guess. smile

The one good thing I saw while re-reading 8dognight's comments was about using the map. I almost never use the maps but I need to in this game to see where there is something to do. Even then, I am sometimes having trouble figuring it out. Most of the puzzles are easy enough but not that interesting or fun (to me). There was one puzzle at the end of Act 2 in game 2 that I tried a couple of times briefly, and then skipped. It just didn't invite me to keep trying it. I am still playing. I'm in act 3 now. The game is very long but I don't think it had to be this long to tell the story.

Thank you for your thoughts on the game, ob. I have heard that it is quite a long game, which can be a good thing or a bad thing, of course. smile

I finished Part 2 of True Fear and started Part 3.

I finished Let' Travel - Greece some time ago but kept playing. After 500 levels I said "enough". I am going to start the first Gaslamp Cases game next.

That all sounds very good.

I am currently playing Mystery Tales: Til Death. Prior to that, I played and finished Mystery of Myths: Heart of Athens. It has all been very enjoyable.

I decided to see if the Dream Day Wedding games work and so far the first game does. I'm not sure if the music sounds like it should but that doesn't affect me. I believe they show the game is 19 years old.

That is good news. I have a couple of those games in my Purchase History.

I'm not sure about this Gaslamp Cases game, Marian. There are too many levels that don't seem doable without using a power up tool and I don't like using the tools because I feel like I'm not playing the game. I get stuck, use a tool and "stage complete". Of course, I am using the most powerful tool. I thought I earned some (didn't know I had to buy them all), went to use one and didn't have any. By that time I had enough to just go for the best, so I did. Maybe I will buy some smaller ones to just give me a nudge along. That one cell that blinks until you click it is making me crazy though as I can never click on it where I want it. crazy

Well, I have a confession to make. I have played all the games in relaxed mode. I assume that you are not?

And I like the power-ups but use them sparingly. Later in the series they choose the tools rather than the player choosing them; either way has worked for me.

I wasn't sold on the series initially but after two or three games I started to enjoy the stories and the characters. The games suit me when I want to have a nice relaxing time.

I started Royal Romances: Battle of the Woods today.

I believe I'm playing in relaxed mode. I don't really remember seeing any option to be honest. It's not timed or anything. I think I will enjoy it better if I use a less powerful tool that doesn't clear the whole board but some of the levels are frustrating me as I see no way to complete them unless I use a tool. If I don't have any moves, will the game reshuffle? I have already bought 5 of the games and will buy more, hopefully in a Bundle.

Edit. Just found out the answer to my reshuffle question. Yes. smile

2nd Edit. The game just froze my system. I exited the game but it was still showing in my bar at the bottom of the screen and the music was still playing. I couldn't even get to it through task manager. I was able to hit the Windows key and shut down my computer though. Then I had to turn the computer back on to make sure it was okay. Argh! Maybe because I had minimized it earlier to post my first edit. I will make sure not to do that again.

You are right - there is no timer. Not sure what I was thinking of. Too many games all jumbled up in my brain. rolleyes
