Absolution is a 3D non-linear adventure game that will present imaginative puzzles and story situations. Each discovery in the worlds of Absolution will immerse you, with the original musical score as well as environments that live and breathe around you. The game will be released Aug 31/Sept 1 2026.

Check out the trailer here.

Quote
Absolution is a full 3D first-person adventure game where story, graphics, animation, sound and original music intertwine to put a spell on you as you immerse yourself in the non-linear gameplay, with captivating environments and interesting characters. The characters in the game do indeed want absolution, from an unfavourable past where tinkering with the unknown has given birth to the "Entropy", an uncontrollable vortex. As the main character asks for your help, you are confronted with a giant theme park guitar that has been ripped apart, while the Entropy pulsates dangerously in the background. Your only transport between the islands is an old hoverflyer that barely holds together, but it swiftly takes you on the adventure in discovering seven islands and the mysteries they pose. Along the journey, you will meet live action characters that are haunted by their own past, and as you slowly learn their oddities, they may indeed choose to help you.

The puzzles and quandaries in Absolution are logical and worldly in their scope and can be enjoyed by all ages binging over a few days or casually over a long period of time alone or with friends and family. Absolution was built using Unreal Engine and has been a passion of mine as an indie developer, taking seven exciting years.

Each discovery in the worlds of Absolution will immerse you, with the original musical score as well as environments that live and breathe around you.

Absolution is the sequel to Alida, released in 2004 and enjoyed by many gamers.

Happy Gaming!

Am I remembering correctly that Alida had an Ozzie connection?

Your memory serves you well, flotsam! It was indeed set on a guita shaped island theme park off the coast of Austraiia!

In one of the Steam discussions the developer wrote this:

"I will actively get my first game Alida up on Steam soon, but I want to make sure it will play well on current PC's. I will let everyone know when it's up on Steam".

Thanks for the news Oldbroad
Hmmm I have Alida on disc somewhere I wonder if it will still install and play on Win 11?
I hope this new sequel won't be loaded with sound puzzles....I hate sound puzzles blech

Very good news oldbroad. I hope he gets it done. It will give some who did not play it the opportunity to do so

I try to load Alida on W10 and XP, it didn't run GreyFuss. It installed but that's all it did

The original Alida required a specific version of QuickTime to run as far as I know. That is probably why installing is all that it did.

But for any future comments about the game running, let's put those comments in the Glitches forum. wave

Last one Marian. I "played" Alidia in 2019 in my XP that used to belong to my sister. "Played" meaning I needed a walkthrough for most of the game.

Yes, Alida was a game that I never finished because I could tell that I was going to be needing a walkthrough for the whole thing. My brain just wasn't equipped for it. I know many people loved it, though, and I hope the sequel is great. smile
