Hi, everyone!
Is anyone else having problems with the "new and improved" Big Fish Game Manager? When I try to access a game by clicking on the desktop icon, I get the message "Windows is searching for bfgprocesexe. After a brief pause, a "Problem with shortcut" screen pops up with an option to fix it. When I click on "Fix It", the game launches, but I have to do that each time I want to play a game from my desktop. OTOH, if I hit "Play" in the Game Manager, it launches.
I am using a desktop and running Windows 10.

Marian, that's a great description because all of my desktop shortcuts were hosed as well. I probably should have waited to download and install version 5.0.0 , but I've never had any problems with the other upgrades. I'll see if I can find a link to report the issue because, as you said, the more people they hear from, hopefully, the faster they'll move to fix the problem. I picked up Vacation Adventures: Cruise Director 6 CE last week and, since the upgrade, have been playing it from the Game Manager, which is now more like a recreation of their website ! I had no idea that we Game Club members were the only lucky ones with access to the new GM. oldbroad, when I download and install a new game, a shortcut on my desktop is automatically created, and that's where I launch the game from whenever I play it. Since the Game Mamager upgrade, all of the existing shortcuts no longer function, so I'm going to download and install one of the demos to see what happens. If I was you, I'd hang onto your existing Game Manager for as long as possible . Susan

Marian, it gets better. I just downloaded a random game to see if it created a shortcut on my desktop, and the install failed. I got the message "Install Error (4507) Unknown Error.". I tried another one and got a different install error code but, after about 4 or 5 tries, the second game finally downloaded and installed, plus it created a shortcut on my desktop. When I clicked on the shortcut, instead of loading the game which has always been the case, the Game Manager loaded with a list of games I might enjoy (not anymore ) and all the other promos we're inundated with on their website. After hitting "Play", the game finally loaded. BFG forgot to include "Guinea pig" as one of the Game Club perks . oldbroad, I right-clicked on one of the old shortcuts and "Open to location" instructs me to browse for the file and I have no clue where it is. Apparently, any games downloaded and installed after upgrading to 5.0.0 must be played through the Game Manager now because that's where the shortcut takes me. It's possible the new Game Manager wasn't designed for desktop computers, which is what I have. Susan

BFG forgot to include "Guinea pig" as one of the Game Club perks . And really, it's not funny at all, but it's good you are keeping your sense of humor. I only play Big Fish games on desktop computers, so heaven help us if if it was primarily designed for tablets/mobile. You are the first person I have seen reporting the installation error but it's very early days and it seems likely that there will be more reports of this nature. A plus for us non-members for sure! Good luck Susan. Maybe you can go back to the old manager somehow until they get this straightened out?

Marian, it's definitely not funny, but if I don't find the humor in this mess, I'll cry ! I'm pretty sure the old shortcuts were disabled by the new version because they don't go through the Game Manager, and that seems to be their goal now because it's now a mini-website. The fact that it's inconvenient doesn't seem to matter. I also hope they are not abandoning those of us who still play BF games on a desktop. oldbroad, hang onto onto your current Game Manager until you don't have any chance. Maybe by then, all the bugs will be ironed out, if in fact they are bugs and not intentional changes. Susan
