Hello I was wanting to play Quiet weekend in Capri I had installed this game last year sometime and had aproblem with it loadind. Inferno told me something I had to do to get it to work right and I can't seem to find my notes on it. When I try to play thegame it pops up with an error message runtime error 2147467259 800004005 this is the same thing that happened before. I have changed screen resolution to 1020x800 but I know there is something else I need to do, I also was checking all notes and it looks like I need a patch can someone tell me where I can find it. Trisha

Trisha,

What do you mean, it looks old? All you need to do is put it in the game folder and let it overwrite the file that's already in there. wave

Is there a patch for A Quiet Weekend in Capri? The link that Jenny100 posted is for the second game Anacapri, not A Quiet Weekend in Capri. There is no info on the Got Game website and the Quiet Weekend website appears to not be valid anymore.

Sorry about that. I get these two games confused a lot.
I think there was a Quiet Weekend in Capri patch, but you had to email the game developer to send it to you, as it was never posted on any patch site.

Good day, Inferno and or Jenny100. That patch for Quiet Weekend in Capri wouldn't happen to be able to fix a Run-time error '70' that occurs near the end of the game? If so we could sure use it. Thanks for your help...

Thanks for the patch Jenny, but unfortunately it didn't fix the runtime error. I'll see if I can fiddle around with compatibilities, etc. I'm using vista. I'd reinstall on vista or use VirtualPC windows 98, but I can't figure out how and where the game is saving games. You wouldn't know anything about that?

Thanks again....

JB

Check the main game folder.
It's probably easiest to do a "sort by date" on the files in that folder and look at the most recent.

Thanks...I found a readme file in the main game folder that actually discusses how to reinstall and keep the game files, but unfortunately it didn't work for me. I'm not sure if I'm dealing with a game problem or a Vista problem. I checked the compatiblility lists for Vista and found no reference for Quiet Weekend in Capri. Has anyone else tried it on Vista?

Just as a conclusion to the problem... We played through the game using my old desktop that is now a sort of DVR hooked up to the TV and has XP pro as an operating system. Had to begin at the beginning (whew!) because the save games would not transfer to the new user/system for some reason even though they are just text files. We got through the previous problem area with no runtime error. Which may point to the problem being Vista.

Incidentally I did try the game using Virtual PC but it ran very slowly. Oddly it was much faster to play using the older computer as a remote desktop.

Hopefully we an now conclude the game if we can figure out the Jovis-prism-turtle-arrow-whatever problems.

Actually that isn't odd at all. Running things inside an emulated environment like Virtual PC always slows them way down. Unless your desktop is 10 years old, that computer is likely faster than an emulated environment.

I've uploaded the patch that Inferno sent me at sendspace
http://www.sendspace.com/file/ynq567

Sendspace deletes links to files that aren't downloaded, so if you want it, get it now.
