That's perfectly fine, Hugh! It's not required to post on the other thread.

As I came out of the "New Narakort Inn" after completin "A posh reception" I saw a crowd. When I went near it, it triggered a cut scene where thaler and this other guy, probably from flamin rose, were quarrelin. I have to choose a side. Is this a quest? It hasn't added anyting to the journal yet. I wanna take thaler's side but I'm not sure. I listened to both of them. While I'm also tryin to search, does anyone know if this is mentioned somewhere in walkthroughs of gamebanshee and/or gamepressure? EDIT: ok I was in lil doubt and found out it's 'All the King’s Men'

I took Thaler's side too. I know the difference in what you do is mentioned on gamepressure, Hugh.

Hugh- It is not a walkthrough, it is called a Developer Game Guide. It gives info on weapons, potions, beasts and fighting. I think the information is usefull and I like that it is not long, like I said about 12 pages or so. Glad that you are going on Thaler's side. I am looking forward to going on the elf and dwarf side this time as Nickie said it was fun?????????? So I am going to follow her path and see what happens. Take care maggie

Hugh it's a matter of personal choice really and your game style. If you stay neutral then you have to fight everyone. Otherwise you just fight vampires if you pick Patrick or Patrick and his men if you side with the vampires. I personally preferred siding with the vampires. Either way you don't get to do anythng further with Blue Eyes. On another note. I just got an email from Witcher headquarters (whatever their real name is) and got really excited until I read further. I thought the enhanced Witcher was out but it turned out that it was just the newest patch with an added quest or whatever. It also said (still) release of the enhanced version is to be announced. I'm really one of the least patient individuals in the world.

Hugh, what oldman said. There is no "one" way to play this. I did neutral the first time I played and went with the vamps on the second time through. Like oldman, I preferred the vamps, but it's all up to you. Decisions, decisions, decisions!
I got the e-mail too, oldman. I was so hoping for the new game release soon. But I also respect their desire to get it as right the first time as possible.
Copy and paste from the e-mail:
Due to CD Projekt RED’s goal of making The Witcher: Enhanced Edition as close to a flawless product as possible, the release of the game has been delayed. We’ve gone back to improve certain versions of the game to meet the highest standards, and work continues on the English version, in which a significant amount of dialogue is being re-recorded and over 5000 lines of the script were rewritten, as well as the German version, in which the translation is being improved and many characters are receiving new voice-overs. The Witcher: Enhanced Edition will be also free of the majority of criticisms noted by fans and media in the original version of the game - loading times will be reduced by 80%, stability of the game on various operating systems will be improved, and numerous improvements will be made to enhance fighting precision as well as game mechanics. The exact release date of Enhanced Edition will be given soon.
It's spring. My life is weeds.

Thanks for posting that Drac!
Hugh, I also went with the vampires. Quite the colorful interlude.

I can't decide what to do I'm really indecisive. I want to be neutral but I feel guilty when the night lady says "you slept with my daughters..." If I side with the vampires I feel a little (maybe very little) guilty for Patrick although he seems strict. Apparently more experience points are given to the choice that seems less evil so I don't know why stayin neutral has highest experience points There's this waitress in the narcotics inn...oh sorry "new narkot inn" who needs red gloves. I bought the red gloves but now the dialog doesn't come anymore with her. What did I do wrong? Although I haven't moved ahead in "the source" I wanted to know who did you guys send alvin to? I'll have to choose what I feel right but I just wanted to know what did YOU guys choose?

Alvin? Well, I decided that Shani just didn't have the resources to look after him. Whereas Triss is a sorceress with connections. Plus he has some sort of magical ability, if you remember the scenes in the Outskirts. So for me the choice was easy.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

That was the reason I picked Triss the first time, even though she seemed a horrible mother figure. I picked Shani the second time. Hugh, your may have picked a dialogue option that won't let you give the red gloves to the lady of the night, but then again the option may come up later too.
Staying neutral is the hardest option, I think. I did it the first time through...

Hugh, I picked Triss too because she had the magic to better watch over Alvin. I could be wrong on this, but I think you get a funny scene in the next chapter too with a ghostly poker player that you don't get when you pick Shani (Drac could confirm, since she's played choosing both).
For something like the choice of Patrick or the vampires, you could always save and play both ways to see which suits you better. I thought Patrick turned out to be kind of mean.

haha, trail I guess that the reasons, u guys sent alvin to triss, make sense since she knows magic and so does alvin and she might have resources. Draclvr: Triss seemed a horrible mother figure. Yes I saved and played both, in "blue eyes" quest and felt guilty when the night lady said ...Well I already mentioned it I guess more experience points in stayin neutral is makin it hard for me to decide. I want to choose lesser evil which is takin vamps' side but I wonder why stayin neutral has more points. Could that be even lesser evil I wonder. Would shani stay angry at me forever if I give alvin to triss?

I just went through that scene with the ghostly poker player. I was all pumped up for a big fight, too, sword out and potions at the ready.
But, argh, my game has started crashing every five minutes, and it hasn't really done that much before. So I don't know what fresh hell -- oops I mean heck -- my computer is throwing at me now.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
