Lorduther -- I think you must have found that Gamestop in Pennsylvania that carries the game!

Lorduther...

This is beginning to sound like an old joke:

First gamer: The puzzles are terrible...

Second gamer: And so few of them...

Becky I got it from Interact- I think based on the story line the developer was doing some psychoactive drugs when desigining this game. Lets see what other think, hopefully someone gets an English walkthrough soon.

I've got a more-or-less English walkthrough (Google Russian-to-English English) and the game is definitely short.

The walkthrough fills 5 1/2 single-spaced pages and has lots of florid prose between the puzzle descriptions.

An example:

"House scientist. History has started

"To begin with, I would include light. You can do this by clicking on switch on the right wall. Since then boldly pace in the passage near a mirror with a photo of a woman with a child, you will find obryvok letter in which your brother asked for permission to press coverage of its opening. From a letter can be concluded that he had already once refused. Now go in the opposite direction - there come to room with a strange machine - capsule."

That said, still an interesting looking bit of multimedia art.

I'm not at all good at these types of puzzles, yet I've been able to figure most of them out. To me that means the puzzles have good design. lol I'm currently stuck though and haven't finished, so I could always change my mind about the game. The story line is very good, although perhaps too esoteric for some tastes I guess.

I only consult a wlakthru when I get very impatient, but mostly when i lose respect for a game-here, it was the electrical switch puzzle that made me realize the logical processes I expected to employ were worhtless, the developer apparantly hasnt much use for voltage and current flow. That was my only walhtru consult until the sound tower-Ive matched frequencies well, if you find a way to solve please post.

Ummm, if people follow that kind of translation they will miss the story and I guess the logic of the puzzles. Sad, because it does have a good story.

Obryvok - a scrap. I played a demo a little, it's not my type of a game, dark enviroment, old mashinery, mechanical puzzles, but I'll probably get it anyway. I could help with some translation from Russian, before English walkthrough comes. smile

Any help with the translation would be welcome. What would work best? Sending you the English translation that you saw above? Posting the link to the original Russian? Sending both?

MrLipid,
I didn't mean the real translation of the whole pieces of the Russian wt. What I mean is to help in cases when after using the translating program you still can't understand what to do. I'm sure "include the light" didn't confuse you enough and you knew exactly what does it mean. You could post your question on the hints forum, referring to the original Russian text. This way other people could benefit too. I'll be checking the forum. If it's not suitable, you could email me you question.wave

Finished it - what a powerful game! It's not going to be for everyone though, there are one or two disturbing scenes. Probably going to be one of those love it or hate it games. grin

I finished too, it was o.k. I expected a little more though, I guess I went into this game thinking that it's gonna be a scary Adventure game which it's not (Nancy Drew games have more scares than this one). I agree with Nickie, there is one disturbing scene in the game which in my opinion had no point(story, game play wise) anyway.

Graphics are o.k. nothing special, story's kinda dull but keeps you interested to play the game to the end, fairly logical puzzles except for the Harp tower puzzle (the person who wrote this puzzle must be def or have some serious hearing issues). Very short game, if you don't struggle with the puzzles this game can be finished within 3 to 3 1/2 hours. I knew it was gonna be short when the first letter was read, dragged out, slow dialog says they're trying to extend game play time.

Personally I'm unimpressed, it's just another game that will gather dust on my shelf. I don't hate the game, but I don't love it either.

I'll play this again in a few years. I still think it's a great game.
Yes, there is one emotionally disturbing scene in which I think is very relevant and goes to show the state of mine of "our" brother - regrets and events we wish we could change.

Mordack, are you talking about the boiler room scene or the ending? If you are talking about the boiler room scene then please tell me how you linked that with the rest of the story. All the letters that points to the brothers "horrific" past I feel points to the end of the game. The game ending I didn't feel was disturbing or emotional, just a good twist that me glad I stuck through it and finished the game.

Point is that some folks will love the game and some won't. I'm part of the latter. My comments about the game is just what I felt and experienced whilst playing it.

Just my two cents.

Guys, good to read your feedbacks. I was checking Sublustrum topic from time to time and didn't realised that new one was created. Now I see why old one is dead smile
