What OS are you installing? I'm so jealous - I want to do another one!

I'm installing Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.

You could always take the one you have now, take it apart and put it back together razz

For me, this one should be enough to hold me for awhile. I like putting it together, but cable management drives me bananas!

I still have so much to do. Here's hoping everything tests out OK.

Yup, cable management is a huge challenge. I do love those velcro ties.

I'd love to see some pics!

Any of you are playing with a controller?

I have the Logitech controller (for PC) and a PS3 controller, Windows 7 recognizes both but I cannot set either of them for the game.

The PS3 controller keeps the 4 lights on and it doesn't have any control of the game, with the Logitech I can walk but this is all, not even look around, I tried from the options menu but it doesn't seem to do anything.

This is the only game of this type in this PC, then I don't know if one of them works properly with other games.

I can't say I've ever tried a controller. I prefer a mouse and keyboard for any FPS (first person shooter) games.

The control is just much better from my perspective.

I usually only use a controller for platform or fighting games.

So, inquiring minds want to know if your new box is up and running yet!

I wasn't home at all yesterday, but it is indeed up and running.

I'm posting from it right now!

I've just been doing a bit of testing, product registration and dealing with rebates (ugh) today.

The only thing I'm missing is a floppy drive and a memory card reader (you asking for pictures reminded me).

I wanted one of those combo deals (floppy/memory card reader), but I don't have a spare internal USB connection.

The front of the case has 4 USB ports which took both internal connectors unfortunately.

Bummer. I did put in a combo floppy/card reader and am glad I did. Ah, well, there are always inexpensive external floppies and card readers to be had.

I can still install an internal floppy drive on it's own no problem. I just wish I could have had both.

I'm still having issue with this darn LG DVD drive.

It struggles to read, but then always reads the disc eventually. It makes a noise like a drive having issues reading a disc, but then revs up to full speed and normal sound after a minute or so.

Ya know, the HP DVD drive I installed acted that when I first installed it. I thought I was going to have to RMA it, but then it settled down and started working like it was supposed to.

I think I'll just wait and see what happens then. I have time to RMA it still.

If I have to RMA it, it's gonna cost like $10 (Canadian) or around there to send it to them.

The drive only cost me a little over $30 with tax.

That's why I'm not too keen on doing an RMA.

Same here, which is why I was glad it settled down and started working.

For some reason all the HP drives were really expensive where I bought my parts. Like around $100 if I recall.

I just bought a drive that was selling well and hoped for the best since you can't really get any reviews.

My other drive is a Sony (which I paid more for of course) and is working great.

Good thing they are so affordable now and you can easily get more than one!

I checked Newegg Canada and they have HP for somewhere around $35. I don't know why they were so expensive at the other place.

So, anyone up for that game of co-op?

I haven't played in some time, but I'm good to go now that my new machine is up and running (and stable).

I'm game, but I'm not going to have any time for a day or two. Let me know when you get a group together! I haven't played in awhile either.

That's no problem.

Let's see the group consists of, myself and then you, so far grin

Well, that's half way there.

I have a bunch of gaming buddies from Steam, it's just hard choosing one that is more at our level.

I've hardly played L4D compared to some, especially recently.

Maybe someone from this board would be interested?
