Has anyone had a problem with installing this game from original CD using Vista? Installer does not open, nor are error messages displayed. Works ok on XP. Any ideas? Thanks.

The game is Vista compatible - have you checked the disc for smudges and scratches?

Every optical reader handles errors a bit differently, it's possible the CD is marginal or the Vista CD drive is going bad.

Give it a good cleaning and see if it recognized on the Vista PC.

Edit -

What happens if you try to open the CD from Windows Explorer (or Computer)?

Thanks for the quick reply. Tried your suggestion of cleaning but it did not help with the installation from anywhere. Just for fun I tried to install it on my friend's XP computer and there was no problem...so it is not the CD. I will have my drive checked and get back to you.

I don't doubt you, but I forgot to ask how you know that the game is Vista compatible? I didn't get any documentation with my CD and couldn't find any information on the net. Just trying to save a tech visit!

Assuming this is the same game, I just clicked System Requirements -

Just to let you know that the game finally installed after I fiddled around with the security switches. "Windows" asked if I would allow the game to install. After "yes" it was done. A first for me. What happened?
