I've giving you lots of advance notice in case you haven't been following the wild speculation on the forum. Next Thursday, GOG is going to announce (according to them this past spring) one of these publishers coming on board!
1. Microsoft
2. Electronic Arts
3. Square Enix
4. Lucasarts
5. Take 2

Yeah, Monkey Island, okay, but Day of the Tentacle? The great Grim Fandango? Cross your fingers and anything else you have handy that it's LucasArts!

Gil.

I tell you what, now and again I buy a game from GOG that I doubt I'll ever be able to play just to support them in their DRM-free revolution. It's just amazing what that crazy French Monk and his cohorts have been able to accomplish. Good old games, great old games that we can play on modern computers without DRM because of their dedication to a vision and their determination to make it real. And the games cost so very little! Sometimes they're even free!

I've long ago forgiven them for that stunt they pulled a while back. Go GOG! Bring the rest of those publishers into the fold!

Gil.

Yes. I too think GOG offer a wonderful service - and I've also been very pleased with their tech support so far thumbsup

It will be really nice if GOG is able to pick up Lucas Arts games! I already own most of the LA games I am interested in (though I would like to play The Dig), but I could use another "copy" of Day of the Tentacle. My CD got a scratch on it quite some time ago, and I haven't been able to play the game with voices since. At least I can still get through the game, but I miss the great voice acting. Here's hoping. grin

Looks like we can narrow the publisher down easier now since the publishers headquarters is in LA

I don't know...there are still 3 dots on the map. The latest clue is = EEE6/2LA = if you want to take a crack at it. Myself, I'm enjoying the comic book tease.

Well, I'm a tad disappointed. I watched the Live Stream.

They announced The Witcher games on GOG and upcoming to game consoles as well.

Then the other announcement:
They are signing with EA.

I was so hoping for Lucas Arts! I've heard of Grim Fandango so often, I would love to play it someday. frown

I'll move this to the DarkSide since this does not pertain to adventure games. EA does DarkSide games.

"Well, I'm a tad disappointed....I was so hoping for Lucas Arts!"

That makes two of us, LadyCav. What a letdown. Still, I think they'll keep working on Lucas Arts and, with luck, they'll sign them up, too, someday. The sooner the better.

Good news for you Witcher 2 players, though, on the patch that's coming up tomorrow!

I swear to you, Ana, I did reply to this in the Darkside Forum. This is the first time I've ever noticed your signature without the happy wave icon. I guess that means all three of us are a little droopy over EA.

Gil.

There was a thread in the adventure games forum very recently wondering how many games sold is par or average for a successful game.

They did announce just a while ago that The Witcher 2 sold over 400,000 copies in the 1 week (I believe) that it's been out.

I hope they manage to sign Lucas Arts later, as well. I took a long break from gaming after Riven/Myst until about a year ago and haven't gotten to play some of those great old classics.

But I'm sure those who love action games will love the new patch and congrats to them!
