HELP. I am playing Riven and have got to the golden dome and I am asked to insert disc 2, BUT the disc drawer will not open.
hopefully some one out there can help me, Please.
When I restart the computer with any other program I have no problems.

Copy the files from the Data folders on the Riven CD's to the Data folder that's inside the game folder on the hard drive. Then you won't need to bother with the CD's at all.

There's another thing you could try before following Jennny's suggestions. They're great, but sometimes this works too:

Please left click on your computer icon, then please right-click on your DVD-drive. From the drop-down menu, please choose 'push out' or something to that effect. Probably, it'll be in the 2nd or 3rd section.

Adventure gaming is fun smile

I just checked and mine says "eject."

Thanks Karsten, but this doesn't help while playing the game, as I need to open the drawer to change discs and as I said in my original query, as soon as I restart the computer the disc drawer works OK.
If I can work out how to copy the files that Jenny 100 told me about I will try that. But once again Thank you for your help.

Roy,

Just above the eject button on your drive there should be a small hole. If you take a regular size paper clip, straighten out one side, and push it as far as you can into that hole, the tray will then pop out of the drive. Now whether or the computer will recognize disk 2 after you insert it into the drive I don't know. But at least you can get the tray out and find out.

If something gets your goat, it just proves you have a goat to get.

You need to know how to locate files and folders on your computer using Windows Explorer or My Computer (or whatever they're called in Vista and Windows 7). Copying files from one location to another can be done by a number of methods.

Here's an article about using Windows Explorer and copying files.
