Hi, I have just installed this game for the first time and all I get is a red bar with the words 'Out of Range'. I get the audio but no picture. Did anyone get this problem ???

"Out of range" usually means a compatibility problem with the monitor -- that the combination of resolution and refresh rate that the game is asking for isn't supported by the monitor. Sometimes this can be solved by installing monitor drivers (if they exist for that model monitor) that allow you to tweak the monitor settings. Sometimes it can be solved by changing the resolution to what the game is asking for before starting the game. Sometimes it can be solved by editing a configuration file in the game folder (which is easier than it sounds).

If you have the 2001 game, it wouldn't have been made for a widescreen monitor. What model monitor do you have?

The Jekyll & Hyde game is the 2010 one.
My monitor is a AMV-A190E2-TOC.
'Brains' AKA my husband thinks it might be a video driver problem.

Unfortunately I can't find any drivers for your monitor, or any information about whether it can do scaling (adapt to different aspect ratios).

What video card do you have? Even if your monitor can't do scaling, your video card may be able to. So your husband may be right about looking for different video drivers.

I don't own the game, so I can't check to see if there's a file you can edit to change the video properties. If you're not able to get a picture on the screen, you can't adjust the game's video options unless you can find a file to edit.

Had an 'out of range' problem with 'Dead Mountaineers Hotel'. The solution was to go into the game engine file and manually change the resolution to 1024 x 768 and refresh rate to '60'. Perhaps this will work for you?
