Debra,
As I remember, may be wrong: Turn the wheel clockwise only. Then pull the hatch, not the wheel.
It takes some time getting used to the controls of this game.

It worked. I am having such a hard time with the controls and then the save system stinks, too. I'm giving it an F- on controls alone. I never understand why game makers want to fix what isn't broken. I can't imagine having to dodge a monster in this thing It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks. Thanks again for the help and quick responses!

I agree with you, Debra. How it ever got past Beta testing with that dreadful control issue is a mystery to me. I thought that issue ruined an otherwise excellent game.

That's too bad Debra, but it's great to know you have lots of other good games to play!

Debra, The controls are awful, no doubt about it, however if it doesn't take too long to "master" them it is worth the effort since it is a very good game. I played Overture and Black Plague and I bought Black Plague after playing Overture. I was used to the controls by then. Maybe it is worth another trial before dumping it.

I have very little patience MCC, so maybe when I'm feeling very bored or masochistic I will try again. The games did sound good when I read about them, but I'm so used to using the mouse, WASD and using number keys to do things that this is just way too clunky for me.
